ITE Hosts Tri-State SolidWorks User Group

The next meeting of the local SolidWorks User Group chapter will be hosted at ITE. The topic will be "Using SolidWorks as a Product Configuration Engine". One of the great capabilities of SolidWorks is the ability to automate the design process. It is possible to extend these automation capabilities beyond the designer to project managers, estimators, vendors, and, ultimately, to customers. ITE will show how to use SolidWorks to automate the creation of models/drawings and how to capture configuration rules and design knowledge of a specific product for repeated use.

The meeting will take place Tuesday, September 20, from 5:30- 7:00pm at ITE. Admission is free and includes dinner and a chance to win a cash door prizes. Please contact Dave Burbrink, the current Chapter President, for reservations.

ITE to Speak at Equipment Protection Conference

ITE's Pete Werwick will be presenting "Plastic/Metal Hybrid Technology: Successful Innovation With Advanced Materials". Plastic/Metal Hybrid materials directly influence the level of innovation achievable in product design. They enable product optimization for aesthetics, performance and cost, an advantage in new product development, not always realizable with homogenous materials.

    Portfolio Management Workshop

ITE is launching a series of seminars and workshops designed to help companies become more successful at New Product Development. The first workshop will focus on new product portfolio and pipeline management. This workshop is for product and marketing managers who need to improve the payoff of creating new products by improving the quality of product and project selection. Participants will not only walk away with knowledge and understanding, but will also have developed some basic tools, like a spreadsheet ranking matrix, to aid in improvement right away.

The workshop will be led by Joe Kormos. Joe is a 20 year veteran of the product development field and has consulted on this topic at companies like Delta Faucet and Harley-Davidson. Click on the link below for more information and to register.

    New Hires at ITE

Kevin Montgomery was recently hired at ITE as a Senior Project Manager. Originally from Louisville, KY, Kevin has resided in Cincinnati for the past 15 years. While working for Campbell Hausfeld, Kevin designed (and brought to market) the most powerful universal motor driven air compressor pump to be used in a standard wall outlet. He was awarded three patents for this design. Accustomed to working on one long- term project, Kevin was attracted to ITE’s diversification of products, explaining that he enjoys working on several different projects at once. Welcome to the ITE team, Kevin!
